FERRIDAY, La. – A celebration of life for Lois &uot;Mia&uot; Lancaster Halcomb, of North Port, Fla. and formerly of Ferriday, La., who died Feb. 1, 2005 in Tampa, Fla. after a brief illness, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Halcomb was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Shaw, the daughter of the late Fred and Mathilde B. Lancaster. She was a nurse and dental assistant. Mrs. Halcomb was born in Shaw but spent most of her life in Ferriday. She moved to Gulf Breeze, Fla. during 1986 and in 1991 moved further south to North Port, Fla. to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She accomplished much during her life, loving and raising five children, adopting all of their friends, working as a nurse and dental assistant, betting on most football games played during that time, and fund raising for Cystic Fibrosis since the loss of a son to the disease.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John Bourke; husband, Roy Halcomb Sr.; granddaughter, Gus Dahl Strobel, and brother, Jack Lancaster.

Survivors include Roy Halcomb Jr. of Alexandria, La., Tina Strobel of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Mathilde Halcomb of North Port, Fla., Brooks Pullon of North Port, Fla., and John Halcomb of North Port, Fla.; brother, Dr. Fritz Lancaster of Ferriday, La.; sister, Catheron Upson of Amarillo, Texas; twelve beautiful and doting grandchildren, Cymantha, Ashley, Dallas, Hunter, Whitney, Kathryn, Will, Zac, Truly, Micah, Madison, and John Brennan.

Pallbearers will be Will Crigler, Micah Pullon, Michael Tenore, Matthew Dotson, Shawn Strobel, and Butch Salter.

FERRIDAY, La. – Services for Kennon Travelle Thomas, 12, of Vidalia, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at the University Medical Center in Jackson following a long illness, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, La. with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Vidalia Cemetery in Vidalia, La. under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Kennon was born Sept. 16, 1992, in Natchez, the son of Doretha Thomas and Matthew Jackson Jr. He was a student.

Survivors include his parents, Doretha Thomas of Vidalia, La. and Matthew Jackson Jr. of Natchez; brother, Christopher Drumgoole of Vidalia; maternal grandmother, Mary Bell Thomas of Vidalia; paternal grandfather, Matthew Jackson Sr.; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carol Ann

Black Barrow

RIDGELAND – Services for Carol Ann Black Barrow, 58, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wright & Ferguson Parkway Chapel.

Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home of Ridgeland.

Visitation is 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barrow was born in Bonham, Texas and lived in Jackson since 1985. She was a retired Administrative Reports Clerk retiring in 1997 after thirty years of employment. She was an outstanding mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Black and her brother, Michael Black.

Survivors include her husband, Robert J. &uot;Bobby&uot; Barrow of Jackson; two daughters, Kelly Estes Butler of Vidalia, La. and Jennifer Estes Nix of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Robert D. Barrow of Gulfport; five grandchildren; mother, Ann S. Fick of Shreveport, La.; sister, Cathy Black Barton of Mineral Springs, Ark.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Minnie P. Henyard

WOODVILLE – Services for Minnie P. Henyard, 92, of Woodville, who died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at her residence, will be noon Saturday at Kingsford Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Scott officiating.

Burial will be in the Cedar Rest No. 1 Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Henyard was born Jan. 26, 1913, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of the late Willey H. Porter and Eliza Scott Porter. She attended the Kingsford Baptist Church school and was retired from Jon of Ark Canning Company in St. Francisville, La.

Survivors include four daughters, Etta H. McDonald, Minnie H. Harden, Doris J. Henyard, and Louvenia H. Bell; two sons, Conway Henyard and Alvin Henyard; 12 grandchildren, Zandra McDonald, Sandra McDonald, Falisha McDonald, Carlos Johnson, Antoine Johnson, Termaine Johnson, Jana Henyard, Alvin B. Henyard, Tracy Thompson, Jerome Hayes, Telvin Henyard, and Corey Williams; sister, Bessie P. Knox; sister-in-law, Lizzie Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Amos Williams

NATCHEZ – Services for Amos Williams, 53, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Jackson, will be noon Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Hines officiating.

Burial will be in Pinehill Memorial Park under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Williams was born Aug. 1, 1951, in Natchez, the son of Amos Williams Sr. and the late Willie Mae Longmire Williams. He was an employee for the City of Natchez City Hall where he had worked for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.

Survivors include his father, Amos Williams Sr.; four sisters; two stepsisters; two brothers; four stepbrothers; three aunts; four uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Pallbearers will be relatives and friends of the family.

JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Richard Lee Cummings, 57, of Jonesville, La., who died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Cummings was born March 3, 1947, in Wildsville, La., the son of the late Willie and Geneva Jenkins Cummings.

Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Cummings of New Orleans, La. and Celeste McCartney of Winnsboro, La.; brother-in-law, Joseph Fletcher of Frogmore, La.; a devoted niece, Gloria Lloyd of Ferriday; a number of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Timothy Wilson

FERRIDAY, La – Services for Timothy Wilson, 37, who died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday with Bishop Joseph Carter Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof, La. under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 25, 1967, in New Orleans, La., the son of the late Curtis and Rosetta Brackens Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include five brothers, Gregory Brackens of Waterproof, La., Curtis Jr., Dwayne, George, and Carl Wilson; three sisters, Cassandra, Sabrina, Tiffany Wilson, all of New Orleans, La.; and maternal grandmother, Clara Robinson of Waterproof, La.
