Crowning Miss Vidalia

The annual Miss Vidalia Pageant, presented by the Vidalia Women’s Club, will be Saturday evening at 6:30 at the Vidalia High School Gymnasium.

Eleven contestants are entered in the competition for the title of “Miss Vidalia 2008.”

Categories for judging include evening wear, sportswear, fitness dance, poise, interview and “Miss Photogenic.” “Miss Congeniality” will be voted on by the contestants.

The contestants, all high school seniors and residents of Vidalia, must maintain at least a 2.0 grade average and have involvement in community, church and civic events.

Pageant winners will receive a prize package donated by area merchants and represent the City of Vidalia at various events throughout the year.

Admission is $5.

Amberlee Dayle Collard, 17, daughter of John and Vickie Collard. She is a senior at Huntington School and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, BETA, Student Council, Publications, the basketball team, youth Bible study leader, and a member of the church worship team. She is sponsored by Sheri Rabb and her page is Bre’Honor Harris.

Mary Katherine Golden, 17, daughter of Jan Hancock, Jim Hancock, Chuck Golden and Diane Golden. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is a member of the Vidalia High varsity softball team, four-year watergirl for VHS football, FCA, 4-H, Student Council and attends Vidalia First Baptist Church. She is sponsored by Debra Merritt and her page is LeeAnn Fuqua.

Mallory Michelle Guidroz, 18, daughter of Holly and Lawrence Chauvin and Paul and Gwen Guidroz. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is Student Council member serving as vice-president for two years, BETA Club serving as vice-president for two years, a VHS cheerleader serving as co-captain, and a member of the Vidalia High varsity softball team for three years. She is sponsored by Kristin Hendricks and her page is Caylee Couie.

Hillary Dawn Guillot, 17, daughter of Gary and Angel Guillot. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is a member of the annual staff, DECA Club, volley tennis team and is employed at Comfort Suites. She is sponsored by Karen Nelson and her page is Skyler Maxwell.

Tori Lemoine, 17, daughter of Raymond and Stephanie Lemoine and Clara Bryan Walcott. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is captain of the VHS cheerleading squad, three-year letterman for the VHS varsity softball team, member of FCA, BETA and Student Council. She is sponsored by Cindy Thornton and her page is Maecee Thornton.

Rachel Marie Lindsey, 18, daughter of Terry and Angel Lindsey. She is a senior at Adams County Christian School and is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She teaches Sunday School and AWANA, is a former member of ACCS Pride Drill team and the Rebelettes, president of BETA Club and FCA, treasurer of ACCS Student Council, and Relay for Life participant. She is sponsored by Cathy Hill and her page is Madison Johnston.

Chelsie Renee McElwee, 18, daughter of Keith McElwee and Darlene McElwee. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is a member of BETA Club and the Vidalia High varsity softball team. She is sponsored by Robyn Gregg and her page is Asia Ellis.

Lissa D’Lee McManus, 17, daughter of Jeffrey McManus, Florence Hargis and Ron Hux. She is a senior at Cathedral High School and is a member of the Cathedral swim team and soccer team, Key Club senior representative and National Honor Society. Rebecca Paige Reynolds, 17, daughter of Eddie and Theresa Reynolds. She is a senior at Vidalia High School and is a member of FCA, Future Homemakers of America, former 4-H Club member, participates in Summer softball league, and a member of the Abundant Life Church youth group and worship team. Donna Geneva Tarver, 17, daughter of Mary and Julius Huhn, Charles “Junior” Tarver and Jenny Tarver. She is a senior at Huntington School and is a member of the varsity basketball team, track team, BETA Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and yearbook staff.
