Local vets can provide spay, neuter services too
Published 12:03am Sunday, November 29, 2009For lack of a better term, I was flabbergasted to read that Mrs. Ginna Holyoak plans to bring in an outside source to perform veterinary surgeries.
With five veterinary clinics in Natchez and two in Vidalia, I ask why? Not only that, she is soliciting free space to park a trailer and corporate sponsors.
This could easily be done, in a similar manner to the bank clearinghouse for advertising. Not to mention that money will leave town and not be spent here to generate sales tax revenue for us in Natchez.
I cannot speak for the other veterinarians in the Natchez area, but I was never offered the opportunity to see a proposal to spay or neuter 70 animals a month at any fee rate.
I would be more than happy to entertain a proposal, and I would not require a donated lot nor corporate sponsors.
After all, I am currently doing low-cost spays and neuters for the Humane Society and currently participating in SPAN’s voucher program.
This would not create any problem for me, I would not require them all on the same weekend, and I would spend the money locally for Natchez to earn the sales tax.
