NATCHEZ — Services for Matthew James Dottery Sr., 55, who died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Singing River Hospital, will be 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Moss Point, Miss.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Millender’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Dottery was born Oct. 21, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Johnny and Mildred Dottery. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was married to Diane M. Crosby for 17 years. He was also employed with International Paper for 38 years until the closing of the mill, at which time he moved on to Mississippi Phosphate Corporation for eight years until his health failed. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife, Diane Dottery; one son, Matthew James Dottery Jr. of Florida; one daughter, Sharonda Dottery of Hammond; one stepson, Bishop Reginald D. Crosby Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Angela D. Crosby of Pascagoula; two brothers, Charles Dottery, and Drew Dottery and wife Gloria, all of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Claretta Anderson and husband, James, and Bonita Woods and husband Larry, all of Natchez; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; father and mother-in-law, Ervin and Dorthoy Middleton of Evergreen, Ala; six brothers-in-law, Willie E. Middleton Jr. of Detroit, Ervin Middleton Jr., John Middleton, Frank Middleton and Fredrick Middleton, all of Evergreen, Ala., and Calvin Middleton of Acworth, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Betty J. Spears of Moss Point, Debra Montgomery and Patrica Baite of Evergreen Ala., and Gwendolyn Osmans of Saudi Arabia; and a number of other relatives and friends.
