Mrs. William Bisland Foley (Sarah Virginia Powers)

Sarah Virginia Powers and William Bisland Foley, both of Natchez, were married Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 7 p.m., at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Parents of the couple Mrs. Ruth Powers and the late Mr. Patrick Powers of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Foley of Hattiesburg.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Michael Shumway and Dr. Patrick Doherty.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Charles Powers. She wore a slim, strapless A-line gown with corset top. The sweetheart neckline was accented with tulle and a diamond brooch. The gown was champagne with a diamond white lace overlay ornamented with Swarovski crystals, glass beads and bugle beads. It was finished with a sweep train. Her rhinestone birdcage veil had fabric flower accents handmade by the bride to match her dress.

Felicia Mo, of Columbia, S.C., was maid of honor and Emily Foley Hall, of Hattiesburg, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Guido of Natchez, Laura Foley of Baton Rouge, Joanna Frederick of Oxford, Anna Jackson of Fairhope, Ala., Raney Grantham of Jackson and Courtney Truax of Little Rock, Ark. They wore wisteria empire waist gowns with charmeuse sheath skirts and a chiffon overlay. The one shoulder gowns were accented with a flower detail.

Groomsmen were Courtland Foley of Baton Rouge, Matthew Hall of Hattiesburg, Michael Byrne of Denham Springs, La., Nolan Coward of Brandon, Ian Doherty of Lafayette, La., Aylette Dicks of Natchez, Richard Burke of Oxford and Brian Priest of New Orleans.

Ushers were Reggie West of Natchez and Keerthan Reddy of Jackson.

A reception was held at Memorial Park following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Ann Vidal Willett and Melanie Kennedy.

The couple will live in Vidalia.
