Dorothy Elizabeth Hammett of Ferriday and Paul James Tanner of Baton Rouge were married May 21, 2011, at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge with the Rev. Hawley Wolfe officiating. Music for the ceremony was provided by Richard Alwood, Caroline Devereaux and Judy McGehee. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Hammett Jr. of Ferriday. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tanner Jr. of Baton Rouge. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. O’Dare Hammett of Ferriday and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lazarus of Jonesville and the late Mr. Bob Cotton. Grandparents of the groom are the late Mr. and Mrs. James Jolly, the late Judge Thomas Tanner and the late Ms. Dorothy Tanner. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore her mother’s wedding dress from 1979. Virginia Martinez and Thomas Tanner Jr. served as witnesses to the bride and groom. Readers were sisters of the bride and groom, Danielle Hammett, Megan Tanner and Katherine Tanner. Ushers were Wesley Edwards, Erik Hoffpauir, Jimmy Jolly and Stewart Jolly. A reception was at The Camelot Club following the ceremony. The couple will live in Baton Rouge.
