NATCHEZ — Bernice Beer and her 8-year old grandson Joshua Williams didn’t have to travel very far to the beach for Spring break — they traveled to the beach on the Vidalia Riverfront Tuesday afternoon.

That turtle turned out good! I hope it leaves an everlasting impression (good) for the two. God bless.

The first and only thing I think about when I see someone on the banks of the Mississippi River is the tragedy that caused the death of Danny Richardson.  Those inviting, sandy beaches can be unstable.

ND isn’t very smart to put such on the front page being the sand might cave off into the river and these folks will be gone for ever for I’d hate for it to be on my conscious if this encourages someone to to this on spring break and they drown and are never found during spring break??!!

I remember Danny Richardson very well.  I grew up with his family and knew him when he was a boy.  I still think about him and the way he died.  Sandbars are not safe for anyone to be playing on.  I saw them on the Riverfront sandbar when I was going across the bridge yesterday and I thought…they have no business down there that close to the water.

I doubt that Ben has ever heard of Danny’s demise due to the river he loved.  Probably not Kevin or Julie either.  Agreed that any article on the sandbar shoudl be a warning to stay away.

“Sudden” and “Swift” are two words that come to mind….
