Natchez Police investigating murder

NATCHEZ — A 23-year-old Natchez man was killed after being shot late Tuesday, and police are investigating the death as a murder. Carlos Wright, of 8 Scotts Lane, is dead.

No arrests have been made in the killing.

According to reports at the Natchez Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call on West Stiers Lane in reference to two men running through the caller’s backyard. While responding, the officer was flagged down by a man who identified himself as a friend of Wright’s, and said the victim had been shot and he was attempting to load him into a car to take him for medical attention.

The report states the officer saw the victim laying across the passenger seat of the car with his legs hanging out the door, and when the officer checked him for a pulse there was none.

Metro Ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

    Two of you should have been at “work” when you posted your comments. Shows what you guys live for. Just exercising your freedom of speech huh? If  this is where you go to build your self-esteem by all means go ahead as you will.  You read comments about people you are “better than” and give us all something to think about maybe? Is that it? You all say the same thing, yet you say absolutely nothing. It would help if YOU all would take a stance and come tell our “community leaders” and community exactly how these articles portray us.  Tell the masses what you think we need to do since we have no solutions.  Tell us, not type, lead and make a difference. I bet you wont, and save your excuses…..here comes one now…

    Have you signed up to become a volunteer deputy yet? No??? Maybe you should go door to door in Ward One and lecture each household about P-E-R-S-O-N-A-L  R-E-S-P-O-N-S-B-L-I-T-Y (AND the value of proper spelling). I’m sure we would welcome your didactic moral instruction.

    I understand…sitting behind your keyboard day after day, scolding and tsk-tsking the Negroes is performing a very vital service to the community. But it is also SO exhausting. Thank you for this service. It certainly is valuable in the wake of tragedies like this one.

    People comment here all the time about how to fix it.  They get called names.  One of the things we say is that if people like you were as worried about violent crime in the black community as you were about what we were saying, it might be a lot better.

    Another thing we say is that this crime stems from a completely broken culture.  Its not my culture and I can’t fix someone else’s culture.  Only they can.

    This is said on this website almost every day because there are violent crime reports almost every day now.

    And, yes, you bet your behind I am MUCH BETTER than a bunch of murdering animals.  Immeasurably so.
