FAYETTE — Services for U’Landa R. Danzy, 42, of Fayette, who died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at noon Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Lorman with the Rev. Dr. J.L. Hammitte Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at East Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Lick under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Danzy was born Aug. 25, 1969, in Natchez, the daughter of John Henry Rankin and Mary L. Rankin. She was a graduate of Alcorn State University where she received a bachelor of science degree in mass communication and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling/elementary education. She was employed by ASU as a data analyst.

Mrs. Danzy faithfully served in several ministries at Greater Faith Worship Center that included president of church choir, the youth ministry, executive secretary to the pastor, the Rev. Hammitte, elementary Sunday school teacher and the compassionate ministry.

Mrs. Danzy was preceded in death by her mother.

Survivors include a loving husband of 18 years, Theophilus (Teddy); two adorable sons, Kristopher and his fiancée, Tonya Hayes and Kershawn; two godchildren, Quayonitha and Jeremiah L. Lutch; her father and his wife, Thelma; seven sisters, Joyce Williams and husband, Bud, Carolyn McDonald and husband, James, Sherry McDonald and husband, Willie, Ruby Rankin, Brenda Rankin, Yulanda Rankin and Taneka Banks and husband, Andrae; four brothers, John Henry Rankin Jr., Glen Rankin and wife, Lorraine, Maurice Rankin and wife, Jeanetta, and Michael Rankin and wife, Bobbie; six adopted sisters and brothers, Ambreya Noble, Al Rankin, Anzari Rankin, Mary Wilson, Tommie Wilson and Charles Baldwin; one great-aunt, Katie Harris; her in-laws, Theophilus Danzy Sr., Lauretta Huff and husband, Percy, Sonya Thomas and husband, Patrick, Anthony Danzy and Jennifer Means; extended families, the Glass family and Carroll family; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
