Vidalia 10, LaSalle 6

JENA, La. — Taylor Rogers was solid on the mound for Vidalia in her four innings of work as the Lady Vikings defeated the LaSalle Lady Tigers Friday afternoon at the Jena Tournament.

Rogers was the winning pitcher as she allowed two runs (none earned) on five hits and struck out five batters. And she got plenty of help from her teammates as Vidalia scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and led 8-2 as she was relieved by Laura Perilloux, who gave up four runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk in three innings.

Kennedy Beard had a big game at the plate for the Lady Vikings (10-7) as she went 4-for-5 with a double. Rogers was 2-for-3 and Perilloux was 2-for-4. LaSalle tried to rally from a 10-3 deficit with Perilloux on the mound, but managed just three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Vidalia has two games today at the Jena Tournament – first against Block at 9 a.m. and then against Franklin Parish at 1 p.m.
