Woman arrested for assault with bottle

NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman was arrested Sunday on charges she assaulted a former romantic partner with a beer bottle.

According to an Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Wanda Edwards, 42, 105 Dumas Drive, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault after deputies responded to a call at a local hospital at 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

The victim reportedly told the deputies he and Edwards were formerly romantically involved, and that she had become irate with him after a conversation the two had in public earlier that morning.

Edwards allegedly attacked the victim with a beer bottle, reportedly inflicting injuries that needed medical attention.

Edwards was released on a $5,000 bond Monday.
