CPSO responds to East Road shooting

VIDALIA — An East Road man was transported by air to Jackson after his stepson allegedly shot him in the shoulder and abdomen Sunday afternoon.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy David Hedrick said the CPSO responded to a 911 call of a shooting on East Road at 3:10 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene, deputies found Terry Watson had been shot with a .380 pistol. The gun had not been located at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Watson is in critical condition.

The suspect in the shooting is Watson’s 15-year-old stepson, who Hedrick declined to identify because of his age. Investigators obtained a warrant for the juvenile’s arrest on charges of second-degree attempted murder Sunday evening.

Investigators have not been able to determine a cause for the shooting, Hedrick said.

The suspect fled the scene on foot wearing pajamas, and authorities were actively searching for him Sunday evening, Hedrick said.

The 911 call was made by another juvenile in the house, who Hedrick said is with other family members at this time.

    You know if it was in that town over their name Ferriday this would have been filled with hateful comments! That comment was not racist either, because the person stated an opinion does not make it racism.

    OMG. the trend in these comments are always the same. Black vs white and racism and bs. This story is about Terry Watson. He was a man. He was a good man. He had several children and a granddaughter he adored. He had another grandchild on the way. He had an errant teenage stepson that he helped raised to the best of his ability from a very young age. That stepson shot and killed him. Now his loving wife father and children are left in shambles. So pllease let’s not get on this comment section and discuss racism, drugs, and grammar. If that is all you can do then surely you have time to stop and think of your own stupidity and kneel down and pray to GOD above to be with this family in their time of need.

    False. If its an opinion, it doesn’t *always* make it racist, but if it’s a proven fact and someone posts THAT info on there, they get called racist.

    Not sure where you are trying to take this but as I said, the statement is not racist. If you feel that it’s a racist statement I suggest you check the definition of racism and research racist statements. Maybe your confusion was my fault because of my sentence structuring and if so I do apologize.
