Blood drive set for wreck victim

JONESVILLE — A blood replenishment drive for a local teen who was injured in a serious automobile accident last weekend will be 1 to 5 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jonesville.

Merthyr Mount, 17, is currently in the ICU at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following a Saturday accident.

According to a news release from LifeShare Blood Centers, Mount has undergone one surgery and a second is planned for today, and he may require additional blood transfusions during the course of his treatment.

Those age 16 or under who wish to donate must have a signed permission form in order to give blood. The permission form may be downloaded from www.lifeshare.org.
