Ben Hillyer/The Natchez Democrat — Jim Lessley had no problem kicking up his heels as he danced with Margaret Guido during the Margaret Martin Back-to-School Barbecue. The old-fashioned sock hop in the school library was just one of the many events at the old high school. Funds from Saturday’s events will go to the interior restoration of the school.

As Burnley Cook tickles the ivories with his version of “Great Balls of Fire,” Jerry Hawthorne and Corinne Randazzo take a spin on the dance floor during the barbecue. After a good dinner cooked by Allen Brown and his crew, alumni and friends were treated to a tour of the school and then the sock hop in the old school library, the same room Randazzo worked in as school librarian.
