Published 12:31am Sunday, August 26, 2012Mr. and Mrs. Bob Roberts announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Hembrey Roberts to Shayne David Knapp, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Knapp, all of Vidalia.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and a recent graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, La.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Faircloth and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Roberts, all of Vidalia. She is also the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Audie Mercer and the late Willie M. Mercer of Mangham, La., and Mrs. Mamie Simon and the late Dalton Faircloth of Jonesville.
The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Vidalia High School and is employed by NOMAC Drilling Company.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wurster Jr. of Vidalia and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Knapp of Ferriday.
The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Vidalia.
A reception will follow at the Vidalia Convention Center on the riverfront.
Family and friends are invited.
Formal invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only.
