ACCS makes it three in a row with 40-22 victory

BAKER, La. — Lester Wells and Trey Fleming accounted for all six of Adams County Christian School’s touchdowns as the visiting Rebels defeated the host Central Private School Rebels 40-22 Friday night.

Wells had 15 carries for 163 yards and two touchdowns, two catches for 26 yards and his 50-yard punt return with 6:32 remaining in the ball game put the game out of reach. He also had seven tackles, one interception and two passes deflected.

Fleming was held to 20 yards rushing on 12 carries, but he also scored two touchdowns. He also completed one of four passes for 16 yards and had four catches for 47 yards and one touchdown.

As a team, ACCS ran the ball 43 times for 251 yards and finished with 373 yards of total offense. And the visiting Rebels punted the ball just one time. ACCS had a 19-8 lead at halftime before Central Private scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to make it a 26-22 game at the end of the third. However, ACCS pulled away in the fourth quarter to preserve the win and its three-game winning streak.

Brandon Ross completed eight of 22 passes for 124 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions to go along with eight tackles on defense. ACCS (3-1) plays host to Bowling Green School at 7 p.m. Friday.
