NATCHEZ — This year’s Natchez Children’s Home Celebrity Golf Tournament has been canceled after originally being scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22 at Beau Pré County Club.

Executive Director Nancy Hungerford said the children’s home originally planned a 20th anniversary of the TC Jordan Tour that used to help raise money for the children’s home.

“We had a really difficult time rounding them all up,” Hungerford said. “We had e-mails and addresses that weren’t correct, so it was a hard task. We had a group ready, but not as many as what would have been worthwhile.”

Hungerford said the next celebrity tour would be hosted sometime in 2013.

“We’re disappointed, but we just couldn’t round up all the guys together,” Hungerford said.

In the meantime, the children’s home is focusing on a preschoolers academics, behavior and counseling program, as well as an after-school program for children grades one through three.
