NATCHEZ — Natchez police have charged a second suspect and are a looking for a third suspect in connection with the Aug. 5 robbery and assault of a North Union Street man.

John S. Dillard, 27, 8 Old Lewis Lane, was charged Wednesday with armed robbery as the second of three suspects in the case.

According to the police report, the victim of the robbery and aggravated assault reported he was asleep on the couch at 1023 N. Union St. when three unknown males with their faces covered entered the residence through the front door, one reportedly wielding a gun and another a knife.

The report states that the victim told police the men grabbed him and began to strike him in the head and face with a hard object, likely a gun, and demanded money.

Ford has said the victim told police he led the attackers to a bedroom and gave them $1,800 because he was afraid he would be further harmed.

After taking the money, the attackers reportedly fled out the front door.

The victim was treated at Natchez Regional Medical Center for the wounds received during the attack.

Ford said Dillard is only being charged with armed robbery and not aggravated assault at the moment.

Dillard has prior felony convictions in Adams County, including armed robbery, felony malicious mischief and grand larceny.

Ford said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Lorenzo Green, 27, 76 1/2 Brenham Ave., who is believed to be the final suspect in the case.

Lakei T. Green, 28, 9 Perrault St., was charged in August with armed robbery as the first suspect in the case.

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Green should call NPD at 601-445-5565 or Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
