KEVIN COOPER / THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT Rhythm Night Club fire survivor Rosalie W. Hawkins and Betty Sago, far right, pause Tuesday morning during a dedication ceremony at the Watkins Street Cemetery in Natchez. Employees of the Isle of Capri Casino raised funds to erect a monument to memorialize the approximately 60 unidentified remains that were buried in a mass grave after the tragic fire that killed more than 200 people on April 23, 1940. Sago and her husband founded a museum on the site of the tragic fire. Nearly 60 people came to Tuesday’s dedication ceremony.
