Final touches: Homeowners prepare for the first day of Fall Pilgrimage

LAUREN WOOD / THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — Doug Holzhauer paints the bottom step on the front porch of Rip Rap Wednesday. Fall Pilgrimage starts today, and Rip Rap will be on tour this afternoon.

Marvin Watson, a painter and maintenance employee at The Briars, paints the trim of one of the windows on the front porch Wednesday afternoon. Watson said he will be painting the rest of the windows, the railings of the porch and doing touch-ups inside before the house goes on tour on Saturday.
