Block utilizes last few minutes in 23-18 win
DONALDSONVILLE, La. — William Cummings’ 3-yard touchdown run with 4:54 remaining in the ball game gave the Block Bears a 23-18 win over the Donaldsonville Tigers Friday night.
In a back-and-forth game that could have gone either way, Block rallied from an 18-15 deficit after Donaldsonville scored a touchdown with 2:33 left in the third quarter.
After Cummings’ go-ahead touchdown, Ken Colbert scored on a 2-point conversion run. Colbert also came up big earlier in the game as his field goal as time expired in the first half gave the Bears, ranked No. 10 in Class 1A, a 15-12 halftime lead.
Block (4-1) plays host to Bossier next at 7 p.m. Friday.
