Watkins Cemetery appreciates helpPublished 12:01am Friday, October 5, 2012
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the management team and staff of the Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel for their contributions to Watkins Street Cemetery.
Their donations made it possible to have a monument, two benches and floral arrangements in place for the dedication ceremony on Sept. 25 of the Rhythm Night Club section (section M) in the Watkins Street Cemetery.
We would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Sago for donating the photograph of the Rhythm Night Club, which was placed on the monument.
To all of the concerned people who participated in the planning and preparation of this dedication event and made it a success, we would like to thank you.
Also, thanks to our city and county officials for showing their support by attending the dedication.
During our quarterly meeting Sept. 29, we had our fundraiser drawing.
We would like to congratulate Mr. Joe Murray of Natchez for winning a personalized marble bench and Mr. Lee Robb of Jackson for winning a gas card.
We appreciate all of our loyal and devoted supporters, with your assistance it is possible to keep up the maintenance and beautification of one of the oldest cemeteries in Mississippi.
Thank you for your continued support.
