HAZLEHURST — Franklin County did something Friday night that no other opponent of Hazlehurst has been able to do this season — put the Indians in a deficit at halftime.

Yet once the No. 1 team in Class 3A took the lead with 7:39 to go in the third quarter, the Indians dominated the Bulldogs as they scored 28 unanswered points in picking up the win in Region 7-3A action.

Alex Rockingham came alive for Hazlehurst after halftime as he had touchdown runs of 29 and 15 yards in the third quarter and 21 yards in the fourth quarter.

Demetrius Cain led Franklin County’s running game with 13 carries for 156 yards and one touchdown. However, Chris Robinson was held to just 43 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown.

Franklin County (4-4, 0-2) plays at Crystal Springs next Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
