FERRIDAY — Services for Jerry Joseph Penton, 70, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Larry Wagoner officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Penton was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Pineville, La., the son of Waldo and Willie Mae Penton. He worked as a diesel mechanic.

Mr. Penton was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marie Penton; one son, Phillip Penton of Monterey; one grandson, Christopher Phillip Penton of Monterey; one granddaughter, Maggie Ellen Penton of Baton Rouge; one great-nephew, Travis Sutton of Monterey; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Penton of Baton Rouge.
