NATCHEZ — The Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed eight new cases of West Nile Virus Monday, including one in Adams County.

The new case brings the total for the county to five.

West Nile Virus cases in Mississippi now total 233 and five deaths.

This year’s West Nile Virus cases are the most ever reported in Mississippi.
