Juveniles may be involved in shooting

NATCHEZ — Natchez police are investigating an early morning shooting that has left a Natchez man in critical but stable condition in a Jackson hospital.gather

Detective Jerry Ford said the police department received a call at 4 a.m. Saturday from a woman on North Rankin Street who said a man who had been shot was at her house asking for help.

Ford said McKinley Douglas Brady, 33, 15 Albert Road, was shot multiple times at the intersection of Beaumont and Bishop streets.

Ford said Brady reportedly had gotten a ride from a friend then passed out in the friend’s car. The friend dropped Brady off at an acquaintance’s house and asked the people at the house to take Brady home, Ford said.

Brady and two juveniles at the house, Ford said, got into an argument, and one of the juveniles pulled out a gun and shot Brady multiple times.

One of the suspects, Ford said, is in custody, but no charges have been filed.

The investigation is ongoing, Ford said, and charges should be filed soon.

Crime Stoppers offers a reward up to $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of a suspect because of a tip. Callers can remain anonymous.

    I know that when I give someone a ride home at alomost 4 AM, I usually just drop them off at the house of “an acquaintance” instead. I mean, I know they’ll be up at that hour and won’t mind since we are “acquaintances” and all. Yeah, I’m already up and in my car with the guy but if you can’t impose on an “acquaintance” at 4 AM for no apparent reason, who can you impose on?

    Personally, I Think we should be able to file a civil suit against them for defamation. They are calling everybody who reads this bag of lies “stupid”.

    “Opposite race”. Interesting choice of words. I’m not sure what race has to do with this but if you think that kind of appeal will curb some of the violence, so be it.

    geesh one person said ‘kids being kids’ — holy crappers — kids carrying guns and shooting people — those are not kids those are juvenile delinquents and we need to toss their young buttocks in jail for a long time — none of the ‘scared straight’ programs for attempted murderers. I doubt any of these teens have passing grades or even the victim has passing grades — doubtful that any of them have parents that give a crap either since am sure the parents have given up on their juvenile delinquent activities a long long time ago. So toss ‘em into the jail and let them rot. At least then their parents will know where they are if they want to visit them. If someone I know wants a ride home at 4:00 a.m., they better call someone else or call a taxi cab because this vitch isn’t going to respond — may answer the telephone the first time but definitely won’t answer the telephone after the first call. I also do not answer or return calls from people calling me from jail. They can sit their rotten butts in jail until their arraignment or someone else is stupid enough to bail them out.
