Adam was born Nov. 28, 1979, in Lafayette, the son of Margaret Inez “Peggy” Loomis. He attended schools in Lafayette and Texas and graduated from Tomball High School, Tomball, Texas, in 1998. In 2001, Adam returned to Lafayette and attended USL. Adam was employed in the oil industry and went to work with his grandfather at Southern Wireline (now Gray Wireline) and worked there for the past 10 years. Adam was a hard worker, with an engaging, friendly personality and a ready smile for everyone. Prior to his injury, sustained while employed with Gray Wireline, Adam’s lifelong membership to a fitness gym, beginning at age 16, along with his strong belief system, were crucial factors to his survival of the Feb. 14, 2012, job-related accident.

Adam’s grandparents, Mary Catherine Pitchford and Gene C. Loomis Sr., were instrumental in molding and shaping Adam into the fine man he grew to be. His grandmother was a constant and vital source of strength and comfort during the 32 years we were blessed to have Adam in our lives and especially during the past eight and one-half months.

He played high school football, was an avid Saints fan and loved those Ragin Cajuns. Adam was a devoted father to his daughter, Emma Catherine, and a loving son, brother and grandson. His daughter was the pride and joy of his life.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene C. Loomis Sr. and one uncle, Stephen Patrick Loomis.

Survivors include his daughter, his mother of Galveston, Texas; his fiancée, Angela M. Toncrey; his former wife and mother of Emma, Kayla A. Loomis of Lafayette; one brother, Andrew Michael Hosseini of Houston, Texas; one sister, Angela Marie Gurske; one nephew, Matthew Patrick Moreno of Tomball; maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Pitchford Loomis; four aunts, Patricia, Camille, Liz and Sue; five uncles, Gene, John Charles, Robert and wife, Liz, William and Richard Loomis; and three cousins, Jason Loomis and wife, Tara, Erik Loomis and wife, Sara, and Dane Loomis, all of California.

Adam was anticipating and would have been fortunate to call Tereena, Lee and Christian Gary his in-laws.

A note of thanks to Malaine Broussard, Emma’s maternal grandmother, for help with his daughter. Adam also leaves his beloved dog, Zoe.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Hearen, Matt Younger, John Raggio, Gabe Orellana, Chad Crouch and Michael Stratigos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Frazier, Matthew Moreno and Christian L. Gray.
