NATCHEZ — Services for Renné Bennett Sewell Carr, 55, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will follow at the Wilderness Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Carr was born Feb. 19, 1957, in Natchez, the daughter of Walter Sewell Sr. and Jessie Lee Sewell. She was a 1975 graduate of North Natchez High School and a certified child care specialist. She had worked at Natchez Market, International Paper Company and Fruit of the Loom. She was Baptist.

Renné was a member of the Krewe of Mer, president of the class of 1975 and a member of the Northside Riding Club. In her spare time, she was an arm chair quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Walter “Butch” Williams; one aunt, Christine Sewell; three uncles, Shelby Sewell, Richard Jackson and Gerald “Billy” Matthew; father and mother-in-law, Albert Carr Sr. and Lillian Carr; and two brothers-in-law, Albert Carr Jr. and Larry Carr Sr.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Carr Sr.; four sons, Ray Carr Jr. of Houston, Texas, Mardriquez Carr Sr., Preston Carr Sr. and Sametrius Mazique, all of Natchez; five sisters, Gloria Taylor and husband, David, Sandra Sewell, Gisele Green and husband, Michael, and Diane Fleming, all of Natchez and Constance Lopez of Washington, D.C.; five brothers, Larry Sewell of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter Sewell Jr. of Natchez, Eric Sewell, Efrem Sewell and wife, Rhonda, all of Houston, and Romello Burdoucci of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Mardray, Mardriquez, Rajon, Mardelquez, Octavia, Martoriquez, Ray III, Madisyn and Preston Jr., all of Natchez; a special cousin, Christine “Baba” Johnson; one sister-in-law, Betty Joyce Morris and husband, Milton; one aunt-in-law, Laura Jackson of Chicago; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of the class of 1975.
