JACKSON — Former Natchez High School standout and current Jackson State wide receiver Rico Richardson had a record-setting day Saturday.

Richardson became the first Tigers receiver to tally 1,000 yards in a season since 2002 as he pulled in two catches for 105 yards in the Tigers’ 35-21 win over Alabama A&M. One catch was a 67-yard touchdown reception with 5:11 to go in the third quarter.

Richardson is a 2009 graduate of Natchez High School. He is only the fifth player in school history to have 1,000 yards in a season.
