Having been directly involved with the planning and construction of these displays, I get very nervous when I see kids-or anyone- up close and personal around the displays. And for good reason. There are quite a few electronics in some of them, and some rather dangerous moving parts in some, too. Fingers in the wrong place could cause either a shock or the real possibility of a pinched finger. Or even the loss of a finger. The displays are NOT meant to have people poking around them carelessly.
My advice- STAY IN YOUR CARS ! Please. Christmas is no time for a bad accident.

You left hot wires hanging out?

No, idiot! But a damp shoe/ground could possibly be a shortcut for an electric current should someone touch an electrical component- you never know! And I am smart enough to have left the wiring to those that are qualified to do it.
USE COMMON SENSE and stay in your car, especially when the displays are running.
