FERRIDAY — Memorial services for R.G. Lewis, 78, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lake St. John Community Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Lewis was born Oct. 26, 1934, the son of Robert and Mary Alice Junkin Lewis. He was a lifelong resident of Ferriday.

Mr. Lewis served in the U.S. Army. He was a tool pusher in the oil industry most of his career and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was loved by all who met him.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred Lewis; three stepchildren, Nina Stephens, Dallas Kennedy and Tony Kennedy; four grandchildren, Terry Stephens, Josh Stephens, Erica Stephens Wade and Abbie Maynard; one great-grandchild, Aydenn J. Wade; one brother, Pat Lewis; one nephew, Tony Lewis; one niece, Lori Mollier; and a number of friends and buddies.
