YOU’RE INVITED: Victorian delights await at Magnolia Hall Thursday

NATCHEZ — For those who have yet to hum the first Christmas carol or munch on holiday goodies, the Natchez Garden Club has an invitation.

The club’s annual Victorian Luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia Hall and club members say its sure to get you in the spirit.

“This is like our holiday kick off for the Natchez Garden Club,” event co-chairwoman Kristin Jordan said. “It’s one of the club’s major fundraisers.”

Jordan said the money raised at the lunch will fund the up-keep of Magnolia Hall and the club’s other property at Ellicott Hill.

The luncheon will be filled with an assortment of sandwiches, dips and desserts.

“Corn chowder will also be available,” Jordan said. “It’s always a favorite among everybody.”

Jordan said everyone is invited to come and enjoy special dishes made by the club members.

“Everything is homemade by members of the garden club,” Jordan said. “There will be lots of eating, socializing and Christmas music.”

Homemade casseroles and soups will also be on sale. Jordan said casseroles will be on sale for $20 for a large size and $12 for a small size. Soups will be $10 for quart sizes and $5 for pints.

“This will be a great time to experience some good food and see friends,” Jordan said.

Meals will also be available for pick-up or delivery.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the Natchez Garden Club office at Magnolia Hall and at the door. Orders of 10 or more are $10 each.
