NATCHEZ — Police are investigating what they suspect as a gun sale gone wrong that has left one man in critical condition at a Baton Rouge hospital.

Natchez Detective Jerry Ford said David Anderson was reportedly attempting to sell a gun to an individual in a truck on West Stiers Lane Saturday when the driver of the truck tried to drive off with the gun.

Anderson held onto the door of the truck, Ford said, in an effort to get his gun back and was dragged from 500 W. Stiers Lane to 513 W. Stiers Lane where he fell off the truck.

Ford said Anderson suffered head trauma and other injuries to his arms and legs. Anderson was in critical condition at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center as of Monday evening.

  • Anonymous

Man, if by some cruel punishment from God I had to live on W. Stiers lane, I would own a freaking arsenal.

Bob Costas was correct in his comment that something needs to be done on the gun control issue for I have my ideas about this and a lot of people don’t like it but be serious we have got to get something done ASAP!! I can’t understand how people sell guns as this and thru the newspapers or swap shop and these guns aren’t registered for the law over 40 years ago said all guns had to be registered to control gun sells going to the wrong persons!!!

Please cite the specific law to which you refer. You can’t because there isn’t one you ill-informed commie stooge. Also, criminals don’t obey laws, that’s what makes them criminals, you ill-informed commie stooge. What we should really control is retarded liberals because they are far more dangerous than any gun.

And for the record, this guy wasn’t injured with a gun but a motor vehicle, you brainless commie. What do you want now “vehicle control”? God, the ignorance of you people never fails to astound me. “Ideas about this?”. You wouldn’t know an idea if it bit you on your ignorant commmunist butt.

Federal law that guns had to be registered in the 70s you brainless commie and your ignorance is very becoming of your writing as your republican party that is so closed and doesn’t take up unpopular issues you commie whig. As far as controlling people , political partys or just to be controlling whatever this is common for the republican party and you see what happen on Nov. 6 so wake up its freedom in the USA!!

  • Anonymous

There is no federal law requiring gun registration you bleeping moron and more Constitutionally relevant, there is no Mississippi registration law either. And I did wake up on Nov. 6. That is why I’ll no longer treat you with kid gloves as I used to. You are my enemy and the enemy of all of those who value American liberty and Constitutional adherence. I am done with you communists. I swore an oath years ago to defend this nation from the likes of you. “Freedom”? You can take your derelict idea of “freedom” and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine, you know, the same place you pulled that “federal gun registration law” nonsense from.

Don’t care how much crack you be lakin, I don’t think the folks on W. Stieirs would put up with your republican spouting mouth.

Guns sold from individual to individual is not illegal. You can buy a weapon at a gun show and legally sell it outside of the property of the gun show on the same day, there is nothing illegal in private gun selling. After a gun is registered and you answer all the questions truthfully, once you leave the guns store, then you can legally sell it to a private individual. At that point the ATF has no idea where the weapon is,they only know it is registered to you.You cannot buy and register a firearm if your a illegal alien,a convicted felon,or in a mental instituition,or have a domestic violence charge on your record.

When seconds count the cops are only minutes away..People carry guns because they can,t carry a cop…People carry guns because they want to keep from getting killed ,not kill somebody.Do you want to ban firearms and let criminals stop you at a redlight and stick a knife in your ribs? Or kick your door down and take what they want?

Or rob you when the want to at any time, and you won,t be able to do anything. Or walk up in your yard and shoot you down while your cutting grass. Ban the weapons and that,s what you will have.

1935 will go down in History! For the first time, a civilized nation has full
gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the
world will follow our lead to the future! Adolf Hitler

Two quick points. First, having been to a number of formerly communist nations, I can tell you from personal experience, that gun control and communism are not synonomous terms. I saw plenty of guns in private hands. Fully automatic assault weapons, i.e. AK 47s, SKSs, RPGs, granades, land mines, armour piercing rounds, and on and on. Oddly, the one thing I saw few of was handguns. The only time I saw handguns, they were strapped to police. Secondly, regardess of the rhetoric, no one has lost ANY freedom as a result of the last two elections. You can still buy or own any weapon now that you could buy or own in 2008. No liberties have been taken, nohing has changed. Don’t buy into the fear and hate.
