LIBERTY — Services for David Glen Hughey, 52, of Liberty, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at M.D. Anderson Medical Center in Houston, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty with the Rev. Merrill Blalock officiating.

Burial will follow at Nunnery Cemetery near Liberty under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughey was born June 27, 1960, in Natchez, the son of Bobby Glen Hughey and Shirley Freeman Hughey.

Mr. Hughey was a cabinet maker with D&M Woodworking. He was the owner and operator of the business.

David loved hunting, fishing and everything to do about the outdoors. He was a gun enthusiast. He also loved and took great pride in his work as a cabinet maker. He will be truly missed by a number of friends and his family.

Mr. Hughey was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marisa Myer Hughey and one son, Daniel Glen Hughey.

Survivors include one son, Matthew Hughey and wife, Amanda, of Liberty; one daughter, Katelyn Rose Hughey of Liberty; one granddaughter, Kinzie Hughey; his parents of Natchez; a number of uncles, nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Jeri Pierce and her husband, Sam, of Ferriday.

Pallbearers will be Lee Tynes, Buster Burks, Keith Forman, Landon Willard, Wayne Rape and Jamie Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
