Woman cleaned out by robber at car wash

NATCHEZ — Natchez police are investigating a Friday strong-arm robbery at a local car wash in which a woman reported she was assaulted and robbed.

According to a police report, the victim reported she was in her car at Lemon Delight Car Wash on the corner of Junkin and East Franklin streets when a man reportedly walked up to the driver’s side door and tapped on the window. The victim reportedly rolled down the window, and the suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at her face and demanded money.

The victim reported the suspect struck her several times with the gun and then with a beer can wrapped in a brown bag, according to the report. The suspect then reportedly took $55 and a cell phone and fled toward St. Catherine Street.
