LAUREN WOOD/THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — Mason Thorpe, 6, reaches out to pet an alpaca as Lily Levy, 5, and her brother George, 1, offer up some straw at the Family Fun Day petting zoo Saturday afternoon on the bluff.
Cedric Green, 11, pets a miniature horse. The petting zoo was provided by Alcorn State University.
Brody Bequette, 3, pets one of the alpacas. Family Fun Day is an annual fundraiser for Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, led by Bequette’s father Ron in honor of his son. Brody stayed at the hospital as an infant.
