Help keep area businesses safe at night

I am Johnny Lemon, a life-long resident of Adams County.

I am the owner of Lemon Delight Car Wash and Detail Shop. I took a business that was an eyesore and turned it into a creditable business. My business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

When I am not present at my work site, I am asking the community to assist me in making sure that my place is safe and no loitering is taking place.

A few nights ago, while my business was closed, an incident took place involving a young lady who was reportedly robbed. This was very disturbing to me, because this did not take place during business hours.

I was not there, nor were any of my clients. These people should not have been on the premises at all.

I have many elderly residents that are in the area of my business, and I try to ensure their safety as well as that of my clients.

This letter is to clarify that I had no knowledge of this incident until I read the article in The Natchez Democrat.

I just want my clients to know that they are safe and their vehicles are safe when doing business with me.

I am humbly asking the community to please notify the Natchez Police Department of any suspicious activity and feel free to contact me as well.

I do appreciate your business and am looking forward to serving the community in the near future.

    Mr. Lemon I respect what you wrote but the problem lies with NPD that suppose to serve and protect!! They don’t go into these bad spots thru out Natchez and I still say they need cops on foot and bicycles in stead of riding and burning gasoline and not penetrating these trouble areas is the city problems!! Things like this makes me thank our sheriff department in the county that serve and protect makes my neighbors and my family proud to live in the county!!

    Please suggest to NPD they review the video of the Shell station across the street for the brown bag bandit. That is where he more than likely had just purchased his brew. I stopped there for gas this week and there were about 6 in line ahead of me buying brown paper bags of beer. If your business was closed, why can we guess that the young lady was present on the premises? Perhaps she needs further questioning by NPD on the reason for her presence.

I don’t ly but state facts also blacks and whites should walk as they did in the 50s and 60s and ride bikes and go into the troubled areas as the sheriff dept. does to stop crimes and drugs!!
