NATCHEZ — Memorial visitation for Judith “Judy” Burkett, 63, of Baton Rouge, who died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burkett was born July 31, 1949 in Opelousas, the daughter of David L. Manning and Lillian Tillman Manning. She was owner-broker of Judy Burkett Realtors in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Burkett was a 1972 graduate of Northeast Louisiana University. She was president of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors in 2005 and was president of the Louisiana Realtors in 2009.

Mrs. Burkett was preceded in death by her parents, who lived in Vidalia, and lifelong friends Don Joffrion and his wife, Donna, of Baton Rouge.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Burkett of Baton Rouge; one son, Bryce Burkett and wife, Lauren, of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Shannon Melton and husband, Lonnie, of Vidalia; one brother, Lane Manning and wife, Cynthia, of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Jay and Lily Sims of Vidalia; three sisters-in-law, Vickie Johnson of Natchez, Sherry Valentine and husband, Gary, of Natchez and Elaine Burkett of Pearl.
