NATCHEZ — Services for Betty Jo Roberts, 86, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff McClure officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Roberts was born May 18, 1926, in Harrell, Ark., the daughter of Boyd Martin Abernathy and Bessie Adams Abernathy. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Vidalia.

Mrs. Roberts was a very loving homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merrell H. Roberts; and two brothers, Robert Abernathy and Bill Abernathy.

Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Ackley of Vidalia; two sons, Mark Steven Roberts of Vidalia and Paul Irvin Roberts of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Martha Burgess of Breman, Ind., Edna Nelms of Suttgart, Ark., Evelyn Wright of Pine Bluff, Ark., Doris Bonds of Marlton, Ark., and Nina McDurmott of Coolville, Ohio; two brothers, Jack Abernathy of Bauxite, Ark., and Larry Abernathy of Arkadelphia, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Winston Roberts, Russ Cummings, Martin Ackley and Rusty Moak.
