The ladies of the Natchez Garden Club would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year! Here’s to hoping that each of you had a warm and wonderful holiday season filled with memories, family and friends.

With this new beginning, we would like to also invite everyone to come and join us for our next meeting. January’s meeting will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Magnolia Hall for the business meeting with a delightful program to follow after at 11:30 a.m. with a scrumptious lunch as well.

This month’s meeting will feature Tom and Ruth Pullen who will educate, enlighten and intrigue us all with “How to enhance your bird habitat!”

Being from Byram, the Pullens live on several wooded acres and enjoy their local birds to the fullest. With a background in ecology, both are active members of the Jackson Audubon Society and Mississippi Ornithological Society.

During the program, they will teach each of us about birds that can be found right in your backyard!

They will also help us to improve our own backyards and habitats for the many birds that can be found in the Miss-Lou.

This meeting and program are sure to be a treat for all of your nature lovers out there looking to improve your home and garden to have fitting homes for the birds and wildlife around your home.

As always, be sure to bring rice for the Stew Pot to help them stock up their pantry for the cold winter months. This is a busy time of the year for them and all that we can do to help is appreciated.

This is the perfect opportunity to do so for others in your own community!

Also, bring hygiene products for the women and children’s shelter to give them a helping hand, as well.

With the New Year finally here, be sure to start the year off right with a quick trip to our monthly meeting with the ladies of the Natchez Garden Club! If you have any questions, please be sure to call the Garden Club’s office at 601-443-9065.

Also, be sure to make your reservations for this meeting by Tuesday with the garden club office.

The cost of this meeting will be $12.
