Circuit Court Cases

Thursday, Dec. 20:

Ladarrius Lowe pleaded guilty to armed robbery (count I) in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving five years, the remaining balance is to be suspended and the defendant is placed on post-release supervision for 10 years, with the first five years to be formal reporting post-release supervision and the remaining five years to be informal, non-reporting post-release supervision with the MDOC. Full credit received for time served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay restitution of $274.45 and $314.87, all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee. Count II (armed robbery) was dismissed.

Kiesha Sade Butler pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling in Johnson’s court. Sentenced to six years in the MDOC, with the court retaining jurisdiction for one year for placement of the defendant into the R.I.D. program with the MDOC. Must pay restitution of $1,852.85, all court costs and fees as well as a $200.00 prosecution fee.

Jedarium Harris pleaded guilty to armed robbery (count II only) in Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 15 years in the MDOC. After serving five years, the remaining balance is to be suspended and the defendant shall be placed on post-release supervision for 10 years, with the first five years to be formal reporting post-release supervision and the remaining five years to be informal, non-reporting post-release supervision with the MDOC. Full credit received for time served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee.

Barney Hawkins Jr. pleaded guilty to robbery in Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 11 years in the MDOC, with the court retaining jurisdiction for one year for placement into the R.I.D. program with the MDOC. The defendant is ordered to obtain his GED while in the R.I.D. program with the MDOC. Must pay restitution of $137.23 and $157.43, all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee.

Friday, Dec. 28, 2012:

Justin Evans, 19, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

James Alex Gossett, 25, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Kermishia Hurts, Age N/A, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Dimarco Montrel Johnson, 23, pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

Shelbie Johnson, 21, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor false pretense. Total fine set at $1,149.

Shelly Rowe, 43, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

Curtis Sanders, 38, pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294. Sanders also pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Phillip W. Strauder, 22, pleaded guilty to simple assault – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 24 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve six days in jail. Fine set at $594.
