NATCHEZ — Services for Evadna O. Ransom, 95, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Glenburney Nursing Facility, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Ransom was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Adams County, the son of Wiley Oates and Rachel Taylor Oates. She was a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William H. Ransom.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Doris Oates of Chicago and Manilda Oates of Natchez; four nieces, Evadna Trimble, Tonya Oates, Makeba Bishop and Faye Waites, all of Chicago; special cousin, Elsie Evans of Natchez; three cousins, Connie Bacon, Charles Johnson and Gregory Cosey, all of Natchez; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bell, the Rev. Clifton Marvel, Ellen Berry, Betty Scott, Thelma White, all of Natchez, the Rev. Ed Bolin and wife, Mary, of Roxie, Edwina Brown and Rachel Brown, both of New Orleans; and a number of other relatives and friends.
