Dale Clinton Whiteman

Nov. 5, 1939 – Jan. 9, 2013

CLAYTON, La. — Services for Dale Clinton Whiteman, 73, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Clayton Apostolic Church with the Rev. Melton Rushing officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Cockerham.

Burial will follow at Chalk Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.

Mr. Whiteman was born Nov. 5, 1939, in Great Bend, Kan., the son of Guy Ronald Whiteman and Lena Boese Whiteman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Arveta Brosius; and two brothers, Forrest Whiteman and Paul Whiteman.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Cockerham Whiteman; four daughters, Kristi Pyeatt and husband, David, Lisa Cranfield and husband, Robert, Sheryl Whiteman and Amy Whiteman; two sons, Craig Whiteman and wife, Candi, and Junior Farmer and wife, Kristie; one sister, Olive Heaton and husband, Al; one brother, Floyd Whiteman and wife, Phyllis; two brothers-in-law, James “Buddy” Cockerham and wife, Sue, and David Cockerham; nine granddaughters, Shannon Blomfield, Courtney Rehman, Ariana Phillips, Stephanie Whiteman, Rami Whiteman, Brianna Sclina Farmer, Lessley Farmer and Angela Orcutt; 11 grandsons, Jason Pyeatt, Ben Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, Matt Whiteman, Vance Farmer, James Farmer, David Farmer, Chris Farmer, Daniel Farmer, Seth Orcutt and Mike Orcutt; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Seth Orcutt, Mike Orcutt, Craig Whiteman, Junior Farmer, Courtney Cockerham and Keith Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Rodney Farmer, David Farmer, Chris Farmer, Daniel Farmer, Kenneth Lilly, Edward Theriot, Kevin Heaton, Michael Cockerham, Robert Cockerham, Mark King, Kelly Heaton, Dough Whiteman, Bradley Whiteman, Jeremy Brosius and David Brosius.
