Supervisors open bids for drainage project

NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors met Monday to open bids for a drainage project.

The project, which is being funded by money that was allocated from the federal government to the state in response to Hurricane Katrina, will be used to repair drainage structures in the Grafton Heights and Pineview Drive areas which had previously failed.

The bids were as follows:

-W.E. Blain and Sons, $69,567.

-Coleman Construction, $56,977.

-Dozer LLC, $61,107.

-Midway Construction Inc., $59,820.

-Oddee Smith Construction, $55,511.98.

-Socrates Garrett Enterprises, $62,923.

The supervisors voted to take the bids under advisement. County Engineer Jim Marlow said he would bring his recommendation for the awarding of the bid to the supervisors’ next meeting.
