Downtown scavenger hunt was great find

Earlier this month, as part of Second Saturday activities, a scavenger hunt was conducted by the Natchez Downtown Development Association.

The “hunters” started at 10 a.m. and “hunted” until 5 p.m.

The weather even cooperated and provided a warm and dry January day!

The “hunters” really enjoyed scouting downtown merchants’ establishments for many unique items — all for a chance to win the grand prize — a 42-inch flat screen HDTV — provided by the NDDA.

We would like to thank all of the Downtown Merchants who participated and helped make the scavenger hunt a tremendous success!

Also, thanks to all of the “hunters” — without you there would have been no hunt!

Of course special shout outs to the Natchez Coffee Company for serving as command headquarters and providing a gift certificate, and to Melancon Antique Emporium, Heritage Fine Cleaners, ETC., Concepcion’s Boutique, Vintage Retreat and Turning Pages for providing additional prizes for the “hunters”!

The originally advertised grand prize 39-inch flat screen HDTV grew to a 42-inch model, but grand prize winner Patti Sanders did not complain!

We hope to see everyone at the NDDA Mardi Gras ball on Feb. 12 — more details to follow.

Anyone interested in getting involved in helping revitalize downtown call P.J. Forrest at 601-920-9432, myself at 769-355-9033, or any of the members of the NDDA Board for helpful information.

Thanks again to everyone involved, and we look forward to bringing more great activities to the NDDA Second Saturdays.

I’m writing on behalf of the Natchez Downtown Development Association Board of Directors.
