BAY ST. LOUIS — Franklin County’s varsity girls’ soccer team saw its amazing season come to an end Friday night as the Lady Bulldogs lost to the Our Lady Academy Lady Crusaders 7-0 in the second round of the MHSAA Class 1A/2A/3A South State Playoffs.

“I’m proud of my girls. They played very hard,” Franklin County head coach Jeff Long said. “The first 15 minutes of the game was back and forth and I felt really good. Then there were two questionable goals (by OLA) on offsides. That turned around our spirits.”

After those two goals, Our Lady Academy added two more goals in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. The Lady Crusaders then netted three goals in the second half to put the game away.
