EL DORADO, Ark. — Services for Sandra Lynn (Cogburn) Bedwell, 60, of Alexander, Ark., who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado, Ark., with the Rev. Kay Rudell officiating.

Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery near El Dorado under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bedwell was born July 19, 1952, in El Dorado, the daughter of Lewis Howard Cogburn and Bobbie Nell (Jeter) Cogburn. Sandy held a master’s degree in nursing and was a licensed nurse practitioner, specializing in psychiatrics. She was a self-employed nurse practitioner, contracted by Pinnacle Point Outreach and Arkansas Psychiatric Clinic at Baptist Hospital.

Sandy loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and was a Nascar fan. She was an avid animal lover and especially loved her dogs. She was a former Shih Tzu breeder and formerly showed Cairn Terriers.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her sister who was not only her sister but her best friend.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father; maternal and paternal grandparents; one aunt; and three uncles.

Survivors include her husband, John Bedwell; her mother of El Dorado; one sister, Donna Augustine and husband, John, of Lafayette, La.; three stepsons, Ronnie Bedwell, Travis Bedwell and Matthew Bedwell; two nieces, Stephanie Hanson of Maurice, La., and Amanda Menard of Youngsville, La.; one nephew, Christopher Augustine of Lafayette; two great-nieces, Caitlyn Croussard of Maurice and Madelyn Menard of Youngsville; three great-nephews, Blake Menard and Seth Menard, both of Youngsville, and Bradyn LeBouef of Maurice; and a number of other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
