Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tumminello was born March 22, 1920, in Monterey, the daughter of Levi Scott and Mary Etta Shows Cross.

Corinne suffered a stroke a number of years ago and slowly declined in health. She spent her last days at Camelot Nursing Home and the family expresses their thanks for their care and special thanks to their mother’s roommate, Martha James Rabb, and caregiver Johnny Lee Hudnell.

Corinne married Vince Tumminello, of Ferriday, in 1937. She loved her family very much and loved to spend time playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making cookies and cakes, especially around the holiday season. She also enjoyed spending time at “The Vinco” where everyone affectionately called her “Ms. T.”

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and spent a number of years as a member of the St. Patrick’s Altar Society. She learned to be a good business woman as she continued to run the store and the farm after her husband’s death in 1972. She loved to read, garden, tend to her flowers and believe it or not, she loved to mow the lawn.

Corinne was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Omer and Levi Scott Cross Jr.; two sisters, Phala Kelly and Vela Daniel; one son, Vincent Henry Tumminello; and one daughter, “Angie” Tumminello Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip “Skippy” and wife, Sandra, of Ferriday and Mark and wife, Penny, of Madison; one daughter, Margaret Stanford and husband, Steve, of Smyrna, Tenn.; one son-in-law, Donnie Davis of Ferriday; six grandchildren, Phillip “Skip” Jr., Michael and wife, Rachael, Ashleigh Simonton and husband, Russ, Mark Jr., Claire and Cassie; and five great-grandchildren, Sydney, Lauren, Cori, Corban and Cody.

Pallbearers will be Mark Tumminello Jr., Michael Tumminello, Phillip “Skip” Tumminello Jr., Russ Simonton, Gene Wilson and Jerry McLain.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Faulkner, Keith Walker and Phillip Crothers.
