NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Doris Prewitt Shell Hurst, 101, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Roboski officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hurst was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Adams County, the daughter of Arthur Green Prewitt and Corine Allen Prewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Sullivan Shell; second husband, Troy W. Hurst; one son, John S. Shell Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Euna Mae Shell; and two brothers, Hebert E. Prewitt and Arthur Paul Prewitt Sr.

Survivors include one daughter, Violet Shell Nunnery of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Myrtice Fulton of Louisville; one nephew, Arthur Paul Prewitt Jr. of Natchez; six grandchildren, Robert Nunnery and wife, Kathy, of Brandon, Michael Nunnery and wife, Karen, of Baton Rouge, John Phillip Shell and wife, Connie, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Marie O’Neal and husband, Mike, of Ferriday, Robert “Bobby” Shell and wife, Aggie, and Wanda Sebille and husband, Johnny, all of Vidalia; 10 great-grandchildren, Madison Nunnery, Caroline Nunnery, Weston Nunnery, Michael Sean O’Neal, Kelly O’Neal, Michelle Ferguson, Richard Shell, Kevin Shell, Jason Shell and Ryan Sebille; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sean O’Neal, Mike O’Neal, Kelly O’Neal, Mike Roboski, Bobby Shell and Paul Prewitt Jr.

The family extends a special thank you to caregiver and friend, Josie Owens, Campassus Hospice, Natchez Community Hospital and Stay Home Health.
