Mrs. Calhoun was born March 18, 1934, the daughter of Albert and Caluie Corban.

Mrs. Calhoun was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez and lived most of her life in Natchez. Her first job was at H.F. Byrnes Department Store, where she was a clerk. She continued to work hard all of her life as a bank teller for City Bank and Trust, a bookkeeper and a business owner. But the job she was most proud to hold was being mother of her two daughters, Shanne and Terri, and a grandmother to her grandchildren, Callia and Dillon. Her family’s hope is that she will be long remembered for her every kindness to others from every walk of life.

Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen Rush and Patty White.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shanne Bowie and husband, Scott, of Shreveport, and Terrie Calhoun of Metairie; two grandchildren, Callia and Dillon Bowie of Shreveport; two sisters, Dorothy Calcote of Natchez and Pat Evans of Minot, N.D., and a number of nieces, nephews and countless numbers of dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Dillon Bowie, Jim White, Paul Dawes, Richard Brown, Charlie Rush and Mike Rush.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Calcote, Mike Baldwin, Patrick Evans and Nathan Everett.

The family extends a special thanks to Mary Elizabeth and Paul Dawes, Bobby and Mary Evelyn Berrett, Pat Nettles and her Bible study friends.
